What I am now painting

Here is my latest painting I am working on. Please feel free to share what you think.

I have a hard time with perception, so I have had to spend a lot of time working on the cabin itself. I think I have finally gotten it right. At least that is what my instructor and my engineer husband say. Today I feel I can now move forward in painting other things within the painting.

I want to put a stack of wood next to the cabin. Eventually there will be more trees, a fence outlining a road, some animal tracks in the snow, a pond that the cabin is overlooking, and finishing the painting off with it snowing.

I am off to paint. :) I will show you the painting again in the next stage.

Blessings!

I'm going to be brutally honest here..... It looks,,, well, it looks cold to me! brrrrr!

hehe

But, if you like cold, it's looking very good.

I must go stand in front of the heater now.

Hi Mysti!
This is a beautiful painting of quiet winter scenery.
This inspired me to stop and spend the day sightseeing the villige or simply relax on the beach and enjoy the winter quiet.
I suggest to put: the park beach;
abstract sculpture or old chapel in the hills or some Christian symbol;
dog near the cabin;
pond with little bridge;

But you know what is the best.
Good luck!

Exactly what I wanted a person to feel when they looked at this painting. lol :)

Thanks Krystyna :) I will keep your ideas in mind. Wonderful thoughts that is for sure.

Peaceful bliss,
to be surrounded by the 'pure' and 'driven' virgin snow in a warm cabin with a fiend, plenty of food and good wine.
The stuff of dreams ...

It's a beautiful picture of snow. Why does snow look so peacful in painting and is a nightmare to drive on. You really do a great job!

There is something beautiful about the stillness of the snow.

I love your cabin ... it a welcoming sight to come into from the cold.

I shall look forward to watching your progression.

I can sense the wonderful warmth and welcome of the cabin amidst the vast cold of the snow.

It's lovely. And I expect it will get even lovelier the more you work on it.

Have a beautiful weekend, Mysti! =)

Mysti, I just got back from Red River. There are a number of galleries and shops that display and sell paintings, drawings, and photos by local artists....many of them selling for $500- $3,000 for original works. A lot of what I saw there is down right horrible! Your work is SOOOOOOOO much better than most of the stuff they are selling up there. Keep up the great work and I hope you can find a good place to sell your work if you choose to do so. A lot of these "Professionals" have nothing on your talent level!
